Irish Pub Cupcakes!

Chocolate Guinness Cake
Irish Cream - Chocolate Genache Filling
Irish Cream Buttercream Frosting
Dusted with Cocoa Powder
Marble Almond Bark on top!

I have had people who love it, a few who say it is their favorite
Jean Marie's Cakery cupcake, and a few who don't like it at all.
I'll admit, it is not my favorite (but I don't like the taste of beer).
The frosting by itself is TO DIE FOR, I could eat a bowl of it by itself!
The cake has a slight bread texture because of the Guinness beer.
Some love that and some don't, but you probably know who you are!
Try one and see what you think.

Super Bowl Snack Table

I had been working on a template for these little handmade paper sacks for another project.

Then Super Bowl came along and I thought they would be the perfect combination of decoration for the table and function for snacks.  I also put pretzels in some, but didn't include them in the photo.  They are a little time consuming to make, but would be so cute for any snack buffet, for kids' birthdays or even to bring out at weddings for those who stay and dance all evening long.  They are about 4" tall and completely customizable.

I also made some chocolate chocolate cake pops in the shape of footballs and cupcakes with chocolate buttercream footballs on top.

Football is not my thing (at all), but if there are snacks and desserts involved, I am THERE!

Tiramisu Cupcakes

I have added a jumbo Tiramisu cupcake to the Cakery menu....
They are so very delicious!!

It is my moist vanilla cake,
brushed with Kaluah coffee syrup with rum flavoring,
filled and frosted with mascarpone whipped cream,
dusted with cocoa powder,
and THEN another layer of cake, syrup and cream!

Birthday Cake Pops

I am so late getting these posted!  I haven't been very good about keeping up with the blog lately, I have been busy baking, filling orders, and working on a secret project!

This was four dozen cake pops with a customized stand for a very special lady's 40th Birthday!  It was a great party and  a good time was had by all!  Happy Birthday (belated still counts, right??)!

Poker Party Dessert Table

I'm just getting around to posting photos from this amazing dessert table that I did for an amazing person's 90th birthday.  It really turned out great and everyone seemed to enjoy the goodies!

I had a few major design elements to work on for this one, I redesigned the way I am doing my backgrounds, which should make them a little easier to move around from now on.  They are 8 feet long and can get really heavy!  I also designed the reusable cupcake stand to be adjustable and I able to decorate it with custom colors to match the event.  My husband and I were getting the kinks out of that right up until the last minute!

There are four different flavor combinations of cupcakes...and each flavor is identifiable by the "suit".  I piped the diamonds, hearts, spades and clubs out of royal icing.  I was concerned with the taste of those, because very red and very black frosting usually does not taste the best, but I tweaked my royal icing recipe, and these were actually good.

The cake pops were done in matching colors, of course!  Birthday Cake, Red Velvet, Pumpkin, and Snickerdoodle.

I had lots of matching candy on this table as well.  There was red and black licorice, red and black gum balls, candy coated peanuts (Boston Baked Beans), wrapped cinnamon hard candy, mints, red raspberries and blackberries, and red Peanut M&M's.  I ate a lot of those raspberries while I was working on this table!  There are some great websites out there that list candy by color when you are trying to do a table like this.

I also made chocolate dipped pretzel sticks in two different colors.

These truffles are Oreo Cookie flavored.  Looking so nice in their little rows!

Thank you to everyone for all of your compliments at the party!  The party was a big success and hopefully I'll get to do a 100th birthday in ten years!

The BIG cookies for Halloween are Monster Cookies!

I baked some BIG cookies for Halloween this year for some special kids who were out and about in their costumes.  I thought these monsters would be soooo cute for Halloween.  Maybe I'll try different colors next time.  I thought the purple and green looked pretty great though!

They are BIG....4 inches across.  I used my Great Grandma's famous sugar cookie recipe, and decorated them with homemade royal icing, so they are delicious too!!
